The film, frame by frame

one night, fourteen minutes from home.

Every screen in the film is the real app, captured on a phone with a demo profile. Only her mother's phone is rebuilt, around the real text message Sakhi sends.

11:47 pm, 14 minutes from home
01A late walk home. The kind every woman knows.
If she can't call for help, it will. Guardian Mode switched on.
02She turns on Guardian Mode before she sets off.
Footsteps. Not hers.
03Footsteps that aren't hers. Guardian keeps listening.
Bachao, bachao. Heard bachao twice. SOS countdown at 1.
04She says "bachao" twice. The SOS countdown starts without a single tap.
SOS sent. Her mother's phone receives the emergency SMS with a map pin.
05Maa's phone lights up with her live location.
She's home. Your cycle, your calm, your secrets.
06And on every other day: cycle, wellness, vault.

What is Sakhi

four tabs. one friend.

Most women juggle a period tracker, a notes app, a meditation app and a safety app, each with its own account and its own idea of what to do with your data. Sakhi puts them in one place, keeps all of it on your phone, and locks it behind your PIN or fingerprint.

cycle & health

Know where you are in your cycle and what's coming next.

  • Period predictions that learn from your own history, plus your fertile window and ovulation day.
  • Daily log of flow, 13 symptoms, mood and notes, shown on a colour-coded calendar.
  • Modes for PCOS / irregular cycles (shows a date range, not a false-precise day), trying to conceive, and pregnancy (week and due date).
  • Insights: average cycle and period length, how regular you are, your most common symptoms.
  • Reminders for your pill, water, restocking pads or a doctor's visit.
  • PDF health summary to hand your gynaecologist.
Cycle tab: period in 9 days, cycle day 21, calendar

wellness

Small daily habits, without a streak bullying you.

  • Mood journal, private and on your phone.
  • Water and sleep tracking with a 7-day view.
  • Breathe: guided box, 4-7-8 and calm breathing with an animated circle.
  • Move for your phase: workout ideas that match where you are in your cycle.
  • Self-care routine: a morning and night skin and hair checklist you can edit.
Wellness tab: water 6 of 8, sleep chart, mood journal

personal

The things you'd rather keep to yourself.

  • Private vault: notes behind a second PIN check, for document numbers, codes or anything personal.
  • Essentials list: pads, pain relief, a hot water bag; tick them off as you shop.
  • Learn: short, plain-language articles on your cycle, period pain, PCOS, your legal rights in India, safer travel, money basics and mental health.
Private vault with three notes

safety

Help in one hold, one shake, or one word.

  • SOS button: hold for 2 seconds and your emergency contacts get an SMS with your live location, updated every few minutes.
  • Shake or power-button SOS: once switched on, shake hard or press power five times. No need to unlock or open the app.
  • Guardian Mode: hears distress and raises the alarm for you (how it works).
  • Walk with me: share your location with family until you tap "Arrived".
  • Fake call to get out of an uncomfortable moment, and a siren with flashlight strobe.
  • Help nearby: police, hospitals and pharmacies on the map, and Indian helplines (112, 1091, 181, NCW and more).
  • SOS stays reachable even from Sakhi's lock screen.
Safety tab: SOS button and Guardian Mode switched on

Guardian Mode

if she can't call for help, it will.

Turn it on when you head out, especially at night. Your phone listens for signs of distress using AI that runs entirely on the phone. No audio is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.

SOS SENT screen: your contacts have your location, updates every 2 minutes
  1. It listens for two things. Sounds of distress such as screaming, yelling and crying, using Google's YAMNet sound model; and words like "help", "save me", "bachao" or "madad", using an offline speech model in English or Hindi.
  2. It waits for two signs, not one. A single shout at a concert shouldn't alarm your mother. Guardian raises the alarm when it hears two signs of distress within about 8 seconds, like a scream and "help", or "bachao… bachao".
  3. Or one secret word. Pick an ordinary-sounding safe word. Say it once and the alarm starts straight away, without alarming anyone near you.
  4. You get a countdown to cancel. The phone vibrates and beeps for 10 seconds (you choose the length). Tap "I'm safe" if it's a false alarm. You can require your PIN to cancel, so nobody else can stop it.
  5. Then your people know where you are. Every emergency contact gets an SMS with your Google Maps location, and a fresh location every couple of minutes until you say you're safe.

Honest limits. Guardian needs the microphone, location and SMS permissions, works best with the phone not buried deep in a bag, and depends on your SIM having signal to send texts. It is a safety net, not a replacement for 112.

Private by design

your data never leaves your phone.

Period and health data is about as sensitive as data gets. So Sakhi has no server to send it to.

coming soon on android.
